Natural elements such as rain, wind and snow can create stress on a canopy frame and increase the chances of collapse. On any canopy frame there are two main areas that are vulnerable to natural elements. The first area includes the point at which leg of the canopy meets the arch of the roof. During heavy rain and snow the added weight on top of the frame can weaken the fitting at the welded points. Placing a bar brace in these specific areas strengthens the canopies roof and relieves stress on the welds. The second vulnerable area on a canopy frame includes the top peak point. This is where the peaked roof of a canopy comes to its final point to form the peak. Placing a bar brace horizontally from one side to other across the peak greatly reduces stress on a canopy caused by wind. As heavy wind gust over a canopy, the structure will tend to sway back and forth. Bar braces placed in the appropriate stress point will greatly aid the framed structure and reduce sway from occurring.
